Hoekstra on Guantanamo: Player or Puppet?
Pete Hoekstra has gone to Iraq four times, and speaks
proudly of having witnessed the treatment of prisoners at Guantanamo.
What about the
abuses at Guantanamo and at AbuGhraib? The Bush team reportedly knew
about
Guantanamo as early as Autumn 2002.
So what did Pete Hoekstra know and when did he know it? Is he at least partly to blame for the administration's intelligence
fiascos, or was he just going along with Bush and Goss? And either way,
how can he now be expected to provide the independent, constructive and
intelligent leadership that this job demands?
His comments and yours are invited.
