Kucinich Underdogs vs. Gingrich Money-Launderers

From: SHS for Kimon Kotos, sent to Al Franken et al. Aug 16 2004; Date: 18 Aug 2004 Time: 03:08:46 -0400

Hi Al & Katherine. Re your "Meet the Democrats" Congressional Candidate slots:

Please consider Kimon Kotos, former National Field Director for Kucinich for President, who is challenging Republican incumbent Pete Hoekstra in Michigan's 2nd Congressional District. (www.KotosForCongress.com/about.htm) While it might legitimately be said for many races this year, this race in particular could be the difference between the next war and peace.

Kimon's opponent, Bush/Republican-shill/pass-through/rubberstamp Hoekstra, is being touted as on the short list to replace Porter Goss as head of the House Intelligence Committee. (Aug. 12, 2004 Grand Rapids Press/ Alexander Bolton, THE HILL reporter). Lord help us. For example, when asked by the Muskegon Chronicle last May what people should do in the war on terror, Hoekstra's response: "We need some divine guidance right now. Pray ...". (see full article at www.kotosforcongress.com/HoekMusk0504.htm).

In preparation, Hoekstra was in Washington Wednesday, August 11, at an Intelligence Committee hearing, getting briefed by his old pal and inspiration Newt Gingrich. Gingrich undoubtedly was there to "Explain the nature of the terrorist threat against America and the historic and moral importance of President Bush's strategy to defend America, including the decision to liberate Iraq". [from Gingrich's position paper July 22,2004, www.newt.org]

Hoekstra, a former businessman, was criticized earlier this year by The Detroit News for reneging on pledges to not take PAC money and not serve more than 12 years. (http://www.detnews.com/2004/politics/0405/28/c10n-165266.htm And last month a Muskegon Chronicle editorial blasted him for voting in favor of letting the feds into the libraries to monitor what we read.

At the same time Hoekstra's back in business, this time the money-laundering business, apparently in association with Gary Bauers, along with fellow Michigan Congressman (and Gingrich protege) Mike Rogers. (http://www.hollandsentinel.com/stories/050704/loc_050704011.shtml Coincidentally, Rogers is being challenged by Kucinich's former Michigan Director, Bob Alexander.

What a story -- the Kucinich Underdogs against the Gingrich Money Launderers.

Hoping the potential conflict of interest of exposing your friend Gary Bauers' complicity with these (alleged) scumbags will not keep you from following up with Kimon. I know he'd like very much to speak with you. Please feel free to contact him directly:
