Re: Pro Choice, Kimon believes a woman, or man for that matter, must
have the ultimate choice about what is done with her or his own body,
that is as long as she or he is still occupying it metabolically.
Kimon's views on the environment are posted on the website, and

ENVIRONMENT
We must reinvigorate our efforts to enforce clean air and water
standards; and protect our valuable natural resources resources for
agriculture, tourism, and recreational use. This is particularly
relevant to residents of District 2, who enjoy and bear a responsibility
for the beautiful shoreline of Lake Michigan.
Kimon has long been an advocate of progressive environmental
issues. In the private sector he founded and conducted an organic food
business. His activism extended to the urban environment where he has
campaigned vigorously against graffiti and urban blight. He is firmly
aligned with the progressive agenda of protecting our environment for
the benefit of our children and future generations.
On environmental issues,
current District 2 representative Pete Hoekstra from Holland has voted
strictly along party lines, including all of the blatantly
anti-environment actions of the Bush Administration. Hoekstra's score
with the League of Conservation Voters is 10% for this last year ... he
has voted almost 100% against environmental protection and in favor of
measures that allow polluters to do their dirty work legally.
